'Bigfoot' Spotted Again in Western N. Carolina

Older reports and supposed photos of Bigfoot show that he has dark brownish hair, but this time Cleveland County resident Tim Peeler told the Charlotte Observer that this Bigfoot has blond hair.
 “I tried to call him,” Peeler told the WCNC News Channel 36 as he blew a device to simulate the sound of a coyote.
 “This thing was 10 foot tall,” he told the news station. “He had beautiful hair. He scared me.”
 Peeler, who was calling for coyotes on his property, located in western North Carolina, said that as the creature got closer to him, he “rough-talked him” and it temporarily left until coming back a short while later. He added that the creature had six fingers on each hand.
 “I said, 'Get away from here! Get! Get!' and he went right back up that path again,” he told the news channel.
  After his encounter, Peeler notified the local police who put out a suspicious persons report.
 Back in the late 1970s, there were numerous sightings of the beast, who allegedly killed chickens, goats, and other farm animals.

Bigfoot has apparently gone blond and lives in North Carolina. At least according to Cleveland County resident Tim Peeler, who told local authorities of his encounter with the 10-foot tall creature, reports the Charlotte Observer.
Peeler thought he was calling coyotes, but instead got surprised and frightened by what -- or who -- came a-calling.
"Instead of them, him," Peeler, who lives in a rural area near South Mountains State Park , told NBC affiliate WCNC NewsChannel 36.
"This thing was 10-foot tall. He had beautiful hair," said Peeler, adding that it looked like the creature had six fingers on each hand.
"I come out here and rough-talked him and run him off," continued Peeler. But then the creature returned.
Luckily the encounter ended safely when Peeler got a bit more aggressive. "I said, 'Get away from here! Get! Get!' and he went right back up that path again."
Sgt. Mark Self of the Cleveland County sheriff's office responded to the suspicious-person call placed by Peeler.
"It scared me," said Self. "This is just totally blowing my mind that they even brought it back up," adding that the Sasquatch legend has been in the county since the 1970s.
"It doesn't bother me now -- I don't think there's anything to it," Self said. Still, the sheriff's office plans to continue its routine patrols of the area. "If we see something, we’ll try to capture it and take it into custody," he added.
So campers and hikers visiting the state park, one of North Carolina’s least-developed recreational sites, be forewarned -- you might want to plan on carrying a big stick, and leaving the coyote caller at home.

(June 16) -- A 10-foot-tall, totally hairy trespasser on your property isn't the norm. Unless it's Bigfoot. Well, that's what Tim Peeler claims he chased away from his North Carolina mountain house last week. Peeler told NewsChannel36 in Charlotte that he first heard unusual grunting and screeching outside his home. When he investigated the sounds, he said, he got close enough to the unwelcome intruder to poke it with a stick. "The thing was 10 feet tall with beautiful hair, yellowish hair, and a yellow beard," the mountain man recalled.According to Peeler, who lives on top of a mountain near Casar, N.C., the creature left, but it later returned. He yelled at his unwanted visitor again, he said, and it finally took off. Peeler also noticed the beast had six fingers.  Peeler reported that the "beast" approached his dogs and somehow got wrapped up in their chains. "I rough-talked him and said, 'You get away from here.'" WBTV.com said that Peeler called 911 at 3 a.m. and filed a suspicious person report. "It looked like a giant ape with a man's face, and it made a whistling sound," he told the 911 dispatcher. He was about nine or 10 feet tall with real long arms." t's not the first time the legendary Bigfoot or Sasquatch has prowled this rural area of Cleveland County. In the 1970s, a creature dubbed "Knobby" was often spotted, eventually spawning its own Facebook page. Sgt. Mark Self of the Cleveland County Sheriff's Office told NewsChannel36 he recalls being scared when he heard stories of Bigfoot sightings when he was 10 years old. "It was killing animals and breaking into barns and killing chickens," he said, adding that he's not really that frightened anymore. Self takes a more official attitude now about reports of any large, hairy, unknown animals. "We're working up here, so if we see something, we'll try to capture it and take it into custody." In his 911 call, Peeler added that "This thing was messin' with my dogs and tryin' to get to my back porch. If he comes too close to me, I'm gonna kill him. "Would I get in any trouble if I shot and killed this beast, this animal or whatever it is?" That's a good question, and one the 911 dispatcher couldn't answer. Peeler realizes his story is dubious at best. So he plans to have a camera nearby next time Knobby comes to visit. A digital camera that takes good nighttime shots would be really helpful.
